DIY Christmas Gift Wrapping Idea
As far back as I can remember, Christmas was made even more magical by the way my mom wrapped gifts. We were always excited to see what was inside, but it was with sheer delight that we raced to the tree each morning during the holidays to see what new gifts she had wrapped the night before.
Every line was meticulous, every pattern matched exactly, and the bows were always handmade. It was magical!
Recently, we have started wrapping our gifts in brown paper and decorating them with stamps and hand-addressing them as if they were straight from Santa's workshop! This makes the gifts even more special and brings a smile to the face of the recipient before they even open the package - no matter their age!

Santa's Workshop Christmas Gift Wrapping Idea

It started out as a simple wrapping job; brown paper, some twine, and a few colored pens...
But eventually it morphed into a full-blown Christmas/Santa celebration! And it's the small little details that make the difference.
Like this "Inspected by Elf No: ___" stamp! Customize the number for each package for an extra dose of fun!

Or you could even use the Elf Number as a code! Give each family member their own Elf Inspector and keep the code a secret until Christmas morning!

Step One: Wrapping

But before we can get to all the fun stamps and whatnot, we need to make sure the package is wrapped!
I love to use brown paper for mine, which you can grab just about anywhere.
Cutting along the lines for christmas gift wrapping idea
Just wrap your package as normal, but make sure that every line is well secured with a piece of strong tape.
I always grab a Scotch® Magic™ Tape 3 Pack Caddie before I sit down to wrap gifts! Because the last thing you want it a piece of weak tape getting loose, letting all the edges open, and ruining the magic of this awesome gift wrapping job!

Note: Seriously though, I have tried other brands and it never fails that I always come back to Scotch®! Don't waste your time with other tapes, just get the best right out of the gate!

Anyway, back to wrapping!
Finish up the base wrapping and make sure that all edges are well secured!

Step Two: Adding Twine

This step is optional, but I like the effect of the brown paper with the twine, so we always use it!

Wrapping the twine off-centered allows the address to be centered if you want. Or you can make the twine centered and the address off-centered. Totally up to you!
Just make sure to secure the twine on the backside as well.

Step Three: Adding the Stamps

Download your free Christmas stamps at the end of the post and then choose a few to cut out for each package!
I like to use at least 3 and overlap them.
Make sure you also cut out your "Inspected by Elf No: ___ " stamp too!
Once you have your placement down, grab your Scotch® Gift Wrap Tape 3 Pack Caddie. This is perfect for going over the stamps because the matte finish makes it practically invisible!

Step Four: Final Touches

Once you have all the stamps on, finish up with a few final touches.
Address the package with name and address, or their bedroom location for a little magical fun. And add your Elf Inspector number!
